Duties and Responsibilities

The position works with the INL Gender Justice Program Officer at Embassy Kabul, performing a variety of highly responsible and complex work developing, managing, overseeing, coordinating and implementing INL assistance programs. The position facilitates INL Gender Justice Program Officer and INL-Kabul’s official interactions with Afghan Government agencies and officials, civil society and INL implementing partners, and embassy counterparts to ensure successful implementation of INL programs in Afghanistan. The position also assists with programmatic monitoring of INL-funded projects.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Event Planning. Computer skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Excel. Ability to raise program concerns with supervisor. Problem solving skills (exercised in close communication with supervisor).

Qualifications

Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in law, Sharia, public administration, government or similar discipline is required.
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Three years of progressively responsible work experience in program planning or administration is required, with demonstrable experience in reporting, both oral and written.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of legislation and regulation drafting, knowledge of gender based violence causes and effective interventions, knowledge of effective legal advocacy.
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: Level IV (fluent) English and Dari proficiency is required. Must have ability to read complex sources in Dari and Pashto, translate into English, and to produce correspondence in Dari.

This may be tested.
